The panel included Bill Maxwell, St. Petersburg Times editorial board; Tim Davis, The Gainesville Sun new media manager; Tom Coleman, Star-Banner online director; and Amy Sanders, University of Florida College of Journalism and Communication doctoral student.
Workshop sessions included Photojournalism Reporting led by Kat Fowler, University of Florida School of Art and Art History graduate student and Jannet Walsh, Star-Banner staff reporter; Newspaper Reporting led Donna Winchester, St. Petersburg Times education reporter; and Television Broadcast led by Dave Schermer, WUFT-TV assignment manager.
The highlight of the closing general session was the presentation of group projects developed during the workshops. Other activities included a workshop on college financial aid and admissions for parents and a tour of the College of Journalism and Communications.
