The
Price of Freedom is Eternal Vigilance
By Donnie McClendon II
October

A
test is defined as a critical examination or evaluation of a principle
or concept. There is no principle or concept that is dearer to us
as Americans than our security and our freedom to feel secure. On
11 September, 2001, the greatest nation in the world was put through
a strenuous test, a trial to examine the very concept of our country's
existence.
As
we struggle through the confusion that we call everyday life, we
must remember to fully analyze our situation. We must maintain our
American bearing. We must understand that a rational mind can accomplish
whatever its purpose is. Most of all, we must heed the call of our
grieving countrymen and realize that resistance only makes us stronger.
Charity
begins at home and blossoms into the community and nation setting.
May a higher power give us the resolve to persevere, for the price
of freedom is eternal vigilance.
